what I don't believe

No, you didn't go to the wrong place. There's just not anything here yet becasue I'm working on the page at the moment. So check back soon for the real page. Meanwhile, think about this:

When Jesus tells Pilate that he has, "Come into the world to testify to the truth," and that, "Everyone who is of the truth hears [his] voice." Pilate responds by asking a very fair question: "What is truth?"

People have been asking that question for years, and everyone has their own ideas about what truth is and isn't. Scientist have spent years trying to come up with formulas to descibe absolute truths about the world we live in only to have their theories shot down by new discoveries.

It used to be that people believed in an absolute truth and that we just haven't found the right answers yet. But these days people are starting to believe that truth is simply what each person believes to be reality in their own world. It used to be that a 'bad' person was one who didn't believe in truth and follow the convictions of others arround them. These days a 'bad' person is one who tries to impose thier view of truth on others.

Many people have a pretty good idea of what they do believe, and there are plenty of opportunities at church (such as bible studies, sunday school, sermons) for you to explore what the church believes and confesses as truth. This is a place for you to encounter other beliefs, religions, and ideas, so that you can determine what you don't believe.

I still remember from back in jr. high when one of my camp counselors was talking to us about sex and abstinence, and all those things. He told us, "I'm not gonna tell you what you can and can't do without 'crossing the line,' that's between you and the Spirit... but I will tell you this: decide now how far is too far, or someone else will decide for you in the heat of the moment." In a similar fashion, I want you to explore the world of philosophy, religion, and beliefs so you can decide 'how far is too far' for your mind and faith. Because if you don't know what you don't, believe, someone else will decide for you.

God bless you on this journey,
tk
